Work at MB Labs
At MB Laboratories Ltd. ("MBL") we know our team of staff is what sets us apart and helps us excel, and we do everything we can to support our team members the best way we know how. MBL offers a comprehensive benefits program to all employees of the company and their eligible dependents. Contractors or employees that work less than 20 hours per week are not eligible for these benefits. Employees and their dependents are eligible for the following benefits following 3 months of full time employment and the successful completion of a performance evaluation with their supervisor.
Benefits Plan
MBL has contracted a reputable insurance company to provide a comprehensive Benefits Plan to its employees. The Plan covers eligible employees and their dependents for medical and paramedical services over and above those covered by the basic B.C. Medical Services Plan. An employee must work a minimum of 20 hours per week to qualify for this Plan. This plan is optional at the employee's discretion.
Vacation Benefits
Full time employees (40 hours per week) are eligible for 10 days of vacation per year. Vacation benefits are paid out equally over the 26 pay periods eliminating the need to accrue vacation. Thus, employees are able to take vacation time during their first year as opposed to earning it during year one and taking it in year two. Vacation time must be taken each year. Vacation days do not carry forward into the following year, ie., you cannot "bank" vacation time.
Sick Leave Benefits
All full time employees (40 hours per week) are eligible for 5 days of paid sick leave per calendar year. Sick leave does not accrue from year to year. Sick Leave is paid out equally over the 26 pay periods eliminating the need to accrue the time off.
Professional Development
All full time employees who have worked for 12 consecutive months are eligible for education assistance which may be provided for courses related to your present job or a job of logical progression. Employees will be reimbursed after successfully (a passing grade) completing the course at 100% of tuition and materials costs up to $500 per calendar year. Employees must discuss Professional Development with their department supervisor.
